“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
The life that we have on earth can seem like everything.
Whether we’re enthralled by the things of this world or discouraged by the trials we face, know that you’re only living in a moment in time.
Alpha (Α or α) and Omega (Ω or ω) are the first and the last letters of the Greek alphabet.
And this title of Christ has been used not just once but several times in the book of Revelation (Rev 22:13).
Elsewhere in the Bible, our Lord also refers to Himself as “the first” and “the last” (Isa 44:6, Rev 1:17).
All of this symbolises God’s eternal nature — how Jesus was there in the beginning and will come at the end of history to judge and save.
Jesus is indeed coming. Are you living with that in mind? Are there things that you need to deprioritise to focus on what will last?
