As part of the 40.Day season of prayer, believers in Singapore have been praying on the need to Win the Youth. At a prayer meeting held this past Friday at my church, a father โ€“ who in recent months has been stirred to serve in our Youth Church, to mentor the next generation โ€“ stepped up to the microphone to speak this prayer over the youths in attendance.

He has requested to remain anonymous, but the prayer is so powerful that I believe it’s worth repeating. A prayer for our youth, with conviction and compassion.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love.

We thank You that we are able to come together to love and pray for the youths.ย

We thank You for the youths among us, within our families, in our church and in our community!

Lord we pray for wisdom from above, to guard their hearts and minds.

We pray that the youths be understanding of others as they seek to be understood themselves.

We pray that they will develop spiritual maturity as they draw closer to You, day by day.

We pray that they can practise good time management, making time not only for their studies โ€” but also to rest and have quiet time with You, Lord.

We pray that You will help them find purpose and meaning in life, as they discover their own purpose in the things of eternity.

We pray they will cultivate a commitment to partake of the Word.

We pray they will develop love and passion for God!

We pray they develop clarity of mind, and not be double-minded, focusing on our Lord Jesus as they go through this journey of life and faith, and put themselves forward to do their best!

We pray 1 Timothy 4:12 over our youth: “Donโ€™t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

We pray that the youth will grow into the fear of the Lord, walk in the Spirit, proclaim the Gospel and in all things glorify Father God!

In Jesusโ€™ name,

Amen.
