Ahead of Day of His Power, which is happening later tonight at 8pm across nine regional centres (Chinese DOHP takes place the next day at 10am-12pm), let’s take some time to really pray for our nation.ย

And what better way to do it, than in LoveSingapore’s three strategic priorities for churches in Singapore this year?

  • Turning Singapore Godward
  • Winning the Youth
  • Blessing the Nations

Take some time to meditate on the verse, and then pray with us or as led by the Holy Spirit.

Turning Singapore Godward

โ€œSeek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7, ESV)

Lord, we pray that You would turn this nation towards you. Turn our eyes and hearts towards You โ€“ no matter what it takes.ย

We pray for all those around us who have not yet come to know You [name them]. Lord, would You do whatever it takes for them to recognise their need for You.

Give us wisdom, discernment and the ability to be channels of blessing in their lives so that we can always point them to You winsomely.

Stir up a passion for evangelism in our hearts. Give us eyes to see the Great Commission the way You do, so that we would share the Gospel out of love, knowing that You have commanded us to do so.

Lord, we pray for spiritual revival in the land. Help our people, young and old, to encounter You in a magnificent and life-changing way โ€“ so that we may all serve You forever.

Winning The Youth

“How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.” (Psalms 119:9)

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6, KJV)

Father, we ask that You would win the hearts of the youth. Turn them from the distractions of the world, help them to see You.

We pray for every Christian student in school right now, that they would be great examples of Your light and love and so win their friends over to You.

We also lift up the children in Singapore to You. Thank You, that You love the little children. We ask that each of them will grow up with a personal knowledge of who you are, that their faith will be strong and their own.

And we also pray for all the Sunday Schools and children services in our churches, Lord let them be places and safe spaces where children learn about You and also encounter You personally.ย

Lord, help those of us who are parents raise up children rightly, not leaving it entirely to our Sunday School teachers but choosing to take ownership of our children’s spiritual development, setting biblical examples at home for them to follow after.

We lift up our children, youth and young adults before You. We ask that they won’t be won over by mere strategies or programmes, but by an authentic encounter with You!

Blessing The Nations

“Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:15-16)

“Then he said to his disciples, โ€œThe harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.โ€” (Matthew 9:37-38)

Thank You, God, for everything You have done for our tiny nation. We recognise that we are blessed to be a blessing. Help us to be generous, not just with our money, but also our time and willingness to serve our brothers and sisters in the region.

Raise up missionaries among us, young and old, to go out into the nations to preach the Good News. Raise up church planters among us who will get Your Word into the villages, towns and cities all across the region.ย

Singapore belongs to You, God. Use her โ€“ use us โ€“ in any way You desire. We want to be a blessing to the nations for Your purposes. We desire to fulfil Your will, and if we do not โ€“ we ask You to make it so.

There, don’t you feel blessed already? Why not do it again with fellow Christians in the land at Day of His Power? That’s happening tonight at 8pm across nine regional centres (Chinese DOHP takes place the next day at 10am-12pm). See you there!
