“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
“Servant leadership” was a phrase I was constantly reminded of throughout my primary and secondary school days. It meant leading humbly with the intention of serving and helping others. What better example of servant leadership is there, than Christ the Servant King?
All of creation was made through Christ. He is the Son of God! Despite His position, He was still willing to serve us and give His life in exchange for ours. He selflessly paid the ransom for a guilty people and He redeemed us by His blood.
Are there areas in our walk and ministry in which we struggle to lead and serve selflessly? Let us pray that Christ the Servant King would mould us to be obedient servants for His Kingdom.
