This promise of strength was spoken to the Israelites in exile who were discouraged, tired and who had lamented: “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God” (Isaiah 40:27).

Last weekend at church, I was seated behind a massive pillar. At the same time, I was wrestling with the fact that a long-standing prayer of mine was still unanswered. It felt like God couldn’t see me.

If you’ve ever felt similarly – God tells us to hope in Him. Translated from the Hebrew qawa, “hope” here means to wait expectantly and with trust in the Lord. When we do so, God promises to renew our strength. He will empower us to soar, run or walk.

So, whether you’re breezing through a season or having a slower time walking through something in life – hold on to hope. Soaring with God, you will neither be weary nor feel faint.
