Jesus concludes the Parable of the Sower with a word of advice: listen carefully. Jesus was speaking about people who have heard the Word of God – and what happens afterwards.

God’s message is heard by four kinds of people, but only received well by one: those with a noble and good heart, who hear the Word, retain it and by persevering produce a crop.

If we are to be fruitful, we must hear God in just such a way. We must cultivate a right, receptive heart and hold fast to God’s truths before bearing fruit faithfully in our lives.
