“The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,” declares the Lord.
But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.
The word “redeem” carries these meanings: to buy back, to regain possession of.
So what did Jesus come to redeem?
When we did not know God, we were slaves to our sinful nature. But when the Redeemer came, we were adopted into God’s family.
Remember that more than just a sinner, you’re a son and a daughter. You’re a precious child whom He purchased with the blood of Christ.
What do you need to be set free from today?
Turn to God in repentance, and in Him find forgiveness and freedom from your sins.
