Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
The Lion of Judah is a favourite name and image of God for many believers.
We sing about this name of Jesus in worship, and love thinking of Him as a lion because the image in our minds is fierce, all-conquering and glorious.
But we would do well to take the Lion with the Lamb.
Jesus is all-conquering because He did not shy away from suffering and sacrifice. He is worthy and incomparably glorious because He is also meekness personified.
If you need to see a victory or a breakthrough in your life today, take the Lion with the Lamb. Where in your life could you use more meekness, selflessness and submission?
