Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
Where other priests were fallible, human and could die, Jesus is perfect, God and man, and eternal.
Where past sacrifices had to be made over and over again, Jesus’ perfect and atoning sacrifice was “one times good one”.
Where once, only one man occasionally dared to have access to God on behalf of his community, Jesus has direct access in heaven to His Father and is continually interceding for His disciples.
This is our Great High Priest who anchors our faith. Have you put your faith in Him?
And are there areas of your life in which you are struggling to have faith today?
How does loving and knowing the Great High Priest challenge you or bring hope to these areas?
