Victory Family Centre Singapore has announced that a memorial service will be held for founding pastor Rick Seaward on Friday, April 13, 2018, at The Star Performing Arts Centre.
The service will start at 7.30pm, with the doors open from 6.30pm. Those intending to come have been advised to arrive early to facilitate security checks at the entrance.
The church, in a Facebook post late on Tuesday, March 27, confirmed that arrangements have been made for the body of Ps Seaward to be transported back to Singapore from Brazil, where he passed away on Saturday, March 24 (Brazil time).
“On March 23, Pastor Seaward arrived in Brazil for a regional missions conference. After the conference on March 24, he was on a 2-hour drive back to the hotel to prepare for another regional missions conference the next day. While driving through a small town, Tres Pontes, he met with a fatal car accident,” according to the church.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our founder,” it added. There will be a private burial service for the family only.
“The family and the church leadership will appreciate your continued prayers and support in this time.”
A website – rickseawardmemorial.com – has been set up to provide more updates on the memorial. International guests are advised to inform the service organisers in advance.

Ps Seaward founded Calvary Charismatic Centre – since renamed Victory Family Centre, or VFC – in Singapore in 1977, and was part of the planting of more than 10,000 churches in almost 100 countries worldwide through VFC.
His name is synonymous with missions, and he was a central figure in the creation of of the inaugural GoForth National Missions Conference in 2002.

He had a strong passion for unity among the churches, and served as Chairman of the LoveSingapore church prayer network, in particular championing the ongoing work being done in Timor Leste.
The leaders in the LoveSingapore churches were effusive in their tribute to Ps Seaward, who was Chairman of the unity movement from 2002 to 2008.
“Rick was a unifier who made every effort to keep unity. He believed in the power of unity,” said Faith Community Baptist Church Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong, the current Chairman of LoveSingapore.
“I pray that we will honour Rick’s legacy by having the same big heart for God’s family of nations near and far. I will miss Rick dearly.”
